BUILT FOR YOUR SMILE
Gum treatment in Chandigarh — by a gum specialist
Your gums are the foundation of a healthy smile — yet gum problems like bleeding, swelling and recession are common and often ignored until they’re advanced. Here, gum care is led by a periodontist (gum specialist), so whether you need a routine cleaning, treatment for gum disease, or cosmetic care for dark gums, you’re in expert hands — and we always start with the most conservative effective option. Healthy gums also start with prevention — regular check-ups and cleanings as part of our preventive & general dentistry stop most gum problems before they begin.

What's your gum concern?
Most treatments take about 45–90 minutes per visit — and many are completed in a single sitting.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Why do my gums bleed?
- Bleeding gums are usually an early sign of gum disease (gingivitis), caused by plaque and tartar irritating the gums. A professional cleaning removes the cause, and with good home care the bleeding usually settles. Persistent bleeding should be checked.
- Can gum disease be treated or cured?
- Early gum disease (gingivitis) is reversible with a professional cleaning and good home care. More advanced gum disease (periodontitis) can't be fully reversed but can be controlled and stabilised with deep cleaning and, where needed, gum surgery — often saving teeth that would otherwise be lost.
- Do I need gum surgery?
- Not always. We always try the conservative route first — a thorough deep cleaning (scaling and root planing). Gum surgery is only recommended for advanced cases with deep pockets or bone loss, to save the teeth. Our periodontist will advise honestly.
- What can be done about dark or black gums?
- Dark gums (from natural pigmentation) can be lightened to a natural, even pink with gum depigmentation — a safe cosmetic treatment. See our Gum Depigmentation page for details.
- Can receding gums be treated?
- Yes. Depending on the cause and severity, receding gums can be managed and, in some cases, corrected with a gum graft. An assessment with our periodontist will tell you the best option.
- Do you have a gum specialist?
- Yes — gum care at Pristine Dental is led by a periodontist (gum specialist, MDS Periodontology), so your gums are treated by an expert.
