This 32-year-old patient came to Pristine Dental with a missing upper premolar. The gap had been there for some time, and he was concerned about both chewing comfortably on that side and the appearance of the space when he smiled and talked.

After a clinical examination and 3D imaging to check the bone and plan the exact position, we recommended a single dental implant — the closest thing to a natural tooth, because it replaces the root as well as the crown and doesn’t involve cutting down the healthy teeth on either side.

A titanium implant was placed into the jawbone in the position of the missing premolar. Over the healing period, the implant fused with the bone to form a solid foundation. A custom crown was then attached, matched in shape and shade to his surrounding teeth.

The result is a single tooth that looks natural, fills the gap completely, and lets him bite and chew normally again — with no effect on the neighbouring healthy teeth.
