Patient profile

  • Age / sex: 38-year-old male
  • Concern: Two missing back teeth on the lower right side, which made it difficult to chew properly on that side and put extra load on the remaining teeth.

Case description (full text for the case page)
This 38-year-old patient had two missing back teeth on the lower right side. The gap meant he couldn’t chew comfortably on that side, so more of the work was falling on his other teeth — something that, left unaddressed, can lead to further problems over time.

After examination and 3D imaging to assess the bone and plan the implant positions, we recommended replacing both teeth with dental implants. Implants were the right choice here because they replace each tooth independently, restore full chewing strength, and don’t rely on grinding down the neighbouring healthy teeth the way a conventional bridge would.

Two implants were placed in the positions of the missing teeth and left to integrate with the jawbone to form a solid foundation. Once healed, custom crowns were fitted and matched to his natural teeth.

The result is a complete, stable set of back teeth on that side — he can bite and chew normally again, with the load spread evenly across his mouth.

  • Why implants over a bridge: neighbouring healthy teeth left untouched; each tooth replaced independently
